something small, something true
a moment like every day
I can smell her hair.
I can feel her breath.
time is standing still
a cold breeze running through the room.
no expectations, no plans, no end.
just us, lay down on one bed.
bodies wrapped tightly,
no air left between her leg on mine,
my arm on her side.
No words exchanged,
since at one point we became one.
one body, one breath, one moment.
no words to describe it,
the steady, the known, the calm.
no cells moving inside,
the world moving outside.
Her hair touching my chin,
tingling, sparkling, embracing us.
no rush to move it away,
not us. we are still. for the moment.
the world moving, but us standing still.
They told us to worry,
to think and to ponder.
I never did that with her,
think.
we just were,
we just are.
She might have fallen asleep,
I can’t see her eyes,
but her body made that little change,
when even the last bit lets go,
right before a dream sets in.
no need for me to do anything,
but stay,
here, with her.
The world keeps turning,
but we are not.
we are here,
one and separately.
Before we know it the rush will come back,
the world will seek in,
pushing our bodies apart,
forcing us to leave.
but not now, not yet.
they told us to hurry,
but with her, I don’t.
We stay here, for a while,
forever,
for a moment,
never.
briefly, eventually, constantly.
A moment lasting for a lifetime,
even in a hurry, even in this world.
We took our time and stopped it,
stopped it for the other, for the self,
for the thing that became us.

this is so beautiful!🧚♀️🫶
